Job Title: Systems Engineer II
Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Systems Engineer II to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems that meet business needs and technical requirements. The Systems Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all components of the system integrate seamlessly and function optimally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain complex systems and infrastructure, ensuring they meet project specifications and organizational goals.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and network teams to ensure smooth integration and functionality of systems.
- Analyze system performance and troubleshoot any issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Participate in system testing and validation processes to ensure systems are reliable and meet user needs.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades to maintain system security and performance.
- Manage system configurations, backups, and disaster recovery processes to ensure business continuity.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve system performance and efficiency.
- Provide technical support and training to internal teams and users when needed.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of system architecture and design.
- Experience with operating systems (Linux, Windows, etc.) and server management.
- Knowledge of networking, databases, cloud technologies, and virtualization.
- Proficiency with systems engineering tools and software (e.g., configuration management tools, monitoring software).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Docker, etc.).
- Certification in relevant technologies or methodologies (e.g., ITIL, Cisco, Microsoft).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and continuous integration/deployment pipelines.
- Experience in [specific industry or technology, e.g., aerospace, telecommunications, etc.].
