Position: Program Support / Configuration Management Specialist – SWFTS
Job Description:
MIKEL, Inc. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Program Support / Configuration Management (CM) Specialist to provide critical administrative, configuration, and integration support for the Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical Systems (SWFTS) program. This position will directly support the SWFTS Configuration Management, Integration & Test (I&T), and Logistics teams by managing technical documentation, coordinating milestones, and generating data reports. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of administrative efficiency and technical fluency in Navy systems support environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the SWFTS Configuration Management and I&T teams with day-to-day coordination and task tracking, including scheduling and documentation management.
- Compile Problem Troubleshooting Reports (PTRs) and key Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) artifacts from the CIS JIRA Database and other legacy databases to support CIS TDA testing and Submarine System Delivery Readiness Review (DRR) packages.
- Gather and organize OQE and milestone documentation from CIS TDA, developers, and stakeholders in support of critical SUB-S events such as Initial Verification Checkpoints (IVC), System Delivery Verification Reviews (SDVR), and DRRs for TI-24 and future baselines.
- Act as liaison between I&T, logistics, and development teams to facilitate requests for System Notes, Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs), and other deliverables.
- Process and track OQE and PTR requests from AN/BYG-1, CIS TDA, and other stakeholders, including the retrieval and delivery of materials from current and legacy databases.
- Maintain and update Functional Assessment (FA) presentations and slide decks using real-time OQE and PTR data pulled from JIRA and internal reporting tools.
- Facilitate process improvement by providing recommendations to the CIS TDA team for enhancements in I&T workflows and data capture methods.
- Organize and lead the CIS TDA I&T Weekly Tag-Up, including agenda planning, note-taking (via Microsoft OneNote), and task follow-up using the Microsoft Planner Board.
- Maintain the CIS TDA SharePoint calendar with accurate milestone data from multiple sources, including the AN/BYG-1 Integration & Test Working Group (ITWG), CIS Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and BYG-1 Consolidated Test Schedule.
- Provide administrative support such as document control, meeting coordination, action item tracking, and SharePoint/Teams workspace management.
- Ensure all configuration and documentation records meet Navy CM standards and are properly version-controlled.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a program support, logistics, or configuration management role—preferably in a DoD or Navy acquisition environment.
- Familiarity with Navy submarine programs or tactical systems such as BYG-1, CIS, or SWFTS is a strong plus.
- Experience working with tracking systems such as JIRA, SharePoint, and Microsoft Planner.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities.
- Comfortable interfacing with engineers, logisticians, developers, and government stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold an active DoD Secret clearance.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to possess an active DoD Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting Navy Configuration Management, Test & Evaluation (T&E), or ILS functions.
- Familiarity with Agile processes and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
- Experience developing or maintaining Navy IETMs or logistics products.
- Working knowledge of Navy milestone events, configuration control processes, and DRR/SDVR documentation.
- Prior experience managing calendars and technical meetings across complex program teams
