NUWCDIVNPT Code 25 is the developer of the Combat Control (CC) segment of submarine trainers and portions of shore-based surface ship trainers. NUWC Code 25 develops training
tools for the sonar surface ship program. A suite of generalized software components is shared among all trainers for needed functionality. All related trainers use a common core of simulation/stimulation architecture components. They are responsible for the design, development, building, installation, upgrade, and maintenance of trainer simulation components at trainer facilities. Trainer systems provide simulation/stimulation capability to tactical submarine AN/BYG-1 and surface ship Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) systems.
Multiple Required Skills:
SMMTT trainers' skills include knowledge to maintain, modify, and upgrade software during all evolutions and deployments of trainer systems. Developers must develop, design, and produce applications and systems that contribute substantially toward submarine combat systems and surface ship trainer evolution. The goal of these prototypes and designs is to produce system updates capable of performance comparable to, or better than, baseline systems/subsystems, while being more affordable and less cumbersome for the operator.
Performance shall include system analysis and development, technology refresh, and performance evaluation. Installation: perform installation engineering, analysis and development assignments that support the development, trainer system impact analysis and design, code development and unit testing, system integration and test, problem troubleshooting and resolution, hardware fabrication, records maintenance, logistics support, interactive electronic technical manuals, configuration management, training, cyber security, technology infrastructure support, compliance assessment audit, and program support.
Candidates must have the ability to multi-task and possess strong organizational and communication skills. Candidates must also be proven self-starter with the ability to take task ownership of assigned tasks and independently determine the approach to develop solutions. Candidates who will be involved with the software design, integration, and refactoring tasks must be proficient with coding languages, notably C++. The Candidate must also be proficient in Microsoft Office. Most qualified candidates will have strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team of personnel. The ability to obtain a Secret or Top-Secret Clearance is a must.
Qualifications: BS or equivalent relevant experience with Submarine Combat Systems
