Position Overview

This role will be in support of the Team Submarine In-Service Program Office. The Team Submarine’s Submarine COLUMBIA Class Program Office is responsible for: The construction of COLUMBIA Class submarines, financial and budget management, shipyard support of submarines, vendor support of submarines, logistical support, quality assurance (SUBSAFE), and post-delivery submarine certifications and test programs.

The Team Submarine concept unifies once diverse submarine-related activities into a single submarine-centric organization with the goal of eliminating traditional stovepipe structures and processes that created impediments and inefficiencies in the submarine research, development, acquisition, and maintenance communities. Team Submarine provides improved communication among the various offices that contribute to the overall success of the United States Submarine Force.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support 397C oversight of Build II early construction and path to CLB Class serial production.
  • Serve as support analyst for shipyard manufacturing throughput and earnings velocity.
  • Analyze span reduction strategies and build sequence optimization opportunities across the class.
  • Represent PMS397C at Build II, serial production, and/or span reduction meetings on site at shipyards.

Qualifications:

Former or current U.S. Navy E7, E8, or O1-O4

  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret Clearance. 
  • Working on EB proper in the SUPSHIP offices (BLDG 88) with the ability to move on all areas of EB proper.
  • Ability to support second shift on a regular basis. 
  • Experience in process improvement and self-assessment.
  • An advanced MS Office skillset to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and Excel. 
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment accepting emergent tasking with little to no supervision and/or direction.?  
  • Discretion in performing specified work requirements. 
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills to communicate effectively and build strong working relationships with a vast team of diverse professionals. 
  • Attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines, as well as work independently and with sufficient knowledge to present projects to senior management. 
  • Ability to travel 25%.

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Teams dataverse and/or PowerBI experience.
