We’re looking for an engineer who’s energized by growth, motivated by designing cutting edge night vision products, and excited to contribute within a dynamic, rapidly evolving company supporting our nation’s defense.

 

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

Design And Development

  • Create detailed mechanical designs for electro-mechanical systems, assemblies, and components using SolidWorks 3D CAD and other software tools as needed.
  • Apply proven engineering principles, theories, and concepts during the design and development process.
  • Contribute to the development of new design concepts that are technically innovative and economically sound.
  • Work with suppliers developing the most economical DFM/A solutions.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Prepare dimensioned drawings, BOMs, ECOs and Engineering Release packages.
  • Create and execute test plans to capture results of sub-system and full system testing on prototypes during development and on full systems at production launch.

Prototype and Test

  • Use hands-on approach to assemble, test, and analyze prototype units.

Production Assembly Team Support

  • Develop required fixtures, tooling, and aids to enable productive and ergonomic assembly processes.
  • Write and maintain manufacturing work instructions.
  • Champion resolution of ongoing production and/or supplier issues.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in the use of Solidworks 3D CAD tools.
  • Solid understanding of PDM and PLM systems used as a repository for engineering documentation and for change management workflow.
  • Ability to perform failure analysis, design experiments and tests to support design and product validation.
  • Knowledge of drafting standards and GD&T (ANSI Y14.5).
  • Possess communications skills needed to develop presentations and express technical concepts to customers and management team.
  • Must be a US citizen to be considered.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience.
