Banneker Supply Chain Solutions, Inc. (www.banneker.com) is seeking an experienced Sourcing Specialist/Buyer.
 
What we expect from our Sourcing Specialist/Buyer
Essential duties & responsibilities related to this position include, but are not limited, to the following:
  • Work with new and existing suppliers to source a broad range of products, from electronic   components to tools to industrial supplies
  • Support Customer Service in providing quotes to customers for sourced items
  • Develop the supplier database: add new suppliers to augment the product portfolio, while ensuring high performance from existing suppliers
  • Manage purchase orders from creation through invoice receipt and reconciliation
 
What Type of Background & Experience Should You Have
  • Must be a United States Citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Business or related field of study.
  • Five to seven years of purchasing and sourcing experience.  Electronics sourcing is a major plus.
  • Experience in purchasing for the aerospace/defense sector is preferred.
  • Strong technology and computer skills, especially in using MS Office products and online search tools.
  • Excellent business writing and communications skills in English.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • High levels of attention to detail, organization, and the ability to meet deadlines.
