Rite-Solutions, Inc is currently seeking skilled and motivated candidates for a full time Software Developer role with software design, integration, and configuration management experience to support on site in Newport, RI at NUWCDIVNPT. Work consists of developing new software and/or upgrading existing software to meet customer and project requirements while using software engineering standards and tools.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Understand, create, and/or modify applications using Linux, Windows, C++, Java, and Python.
• Support development, evaluation, system/software integration, and test.
• Understand and support maintenance of requirements and develop software designs.
• Communicate on a regular basis with customer and other functional team leads.

Requirements / Skills

• 0 - 4+ years of Software Development experience.
• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technology field.
• Experience and/or ability to code in the following: in C, C++, C#, JAVA, and Python.
• Experience with development under Linux-based systems.
• Developing software in a multi-threaded/multi-process environment
• Developing software to communicate with other hardware using TCP/IP, UDP, and serial communications.
• Strong problem solving, application testing, and debugging capabilities
• Software integration testing.
• Experience with build environment tools.
• Effective written and verbal skills
• Able to work and thrive in both individual and team coding environments
• Position requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret-level security clearance with the US Government

Additional Skills of Interest: (not required)

• User Interface (UI) Development
• Familiarity with common industry protocols (e.g., JMS, AMQP, SOAP, WSDL, etc.), APIs (e.g., Google Protocol Buffers), and frameworks (e.g., MVC)
• Involved with Database administration and/or database analyst experience
• Experience with testing frameworks
• Linux system administration as part of software development
• Familiar with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) especially AMQP service development
• Understanding of agile and traditional software development life cycle (SDLC) approaches
• Experience in Navy programs especially Tactical Control System (TCS) software development and/or test
