McLaughlin Research Corporation has an immediate opening for an experienced ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN to provide support to testing and data acquisition efforts in Code 45 USW Platforms & Payload Integration department at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport.

The technician will be required to support onsite testing tasks conducted in the Launcher Facilities by performing the following tasks:

  • Installing, configuring and operating instrumentation, signal conditioning amplifiers and filters, data acquisition hardware and all associated cabling.
  • Perform user calibration of test instrumentation such as pressure transducers, accelerometers and hydrophones required.
  • Operate data acquisition hardware and software during testing to facilitate displaying test results.
  • Post process and plot test data using Microsoft office and MATLAB routines.

Other tasks this technician will be required support:

  • Prototype cable and electrical assembly fabrication, testing and troubleshooting using engineering drawings schematics. Wiring tables and parts lists.
Job Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of experience operating and maintaining data acquisitions systems, such as LabView, in a qualification test environment or related field and experience fabricating and testing prototype cable and electrical control and monitoring assemblies using engineering drawing packages.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate Degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience preferable
