We are seeking a Water Quality Modeler to join our hazard assessment team in Middletown, RI. As part of this team you will participate in the development and application of multi-dimensional hydrodynamic, transport and fate models to rivers, lakes, reservoirs, estuaries and coastal water bodies. Typical projects involve the assessment of spills of Toxic Industrial Chemicals, Oils or Radiological Materials.
Assist in the development and application of the System for Hazard Assessment of Released Chemicals (SHARC) to a wide range of water bodies.
Stay up to date on research related to transport and fate modeling and implement new algorithms within SHARC.
Acquire and process datasets to support model application and validation, monitor model applications, perform supporting calculations and document results.
MS Degree in Engineering, Oceanography, Environmental Science or similar technical field of study.
Specialization in model development, fluid mechanics, water resources or environmental water chemistry.
Working knowledge of a programming language such as JAVA, Python or R.
This is a full-time position to be performed at our offices in Middletown, RI.
